This is a January 2010 photograph of the Wilson Memorial Fountain which stands on Gateacre Village Green. John Hays Wilson - of Lee Hall, Gateacre - was Chairman of the Liverpool Water Committee, and was involved in the plan to construct Lake Vyrnwy. He died in 1881, before the project began, and this memorial was erected by the people of Gateacre on land presented by the wealthy brewer, Andrew Barclay Walker of Gateacre Grange.
