Please note that the 'Community Conversation' with Liverpool City Region's Metro Mayor, Steve Rotheram, previously announced for Friday 11th October, has been POSTPONED.

In the run-up to Car Free Day on Sunday 22nd September, the Liverpool Echo did its best to atone for its previously negative coverage of the Wavertree High Street area. Liam Thorp wrote an article about the Love Wavertree campaign on 21st September:

"A group of ordinary people want to prove everyone wrong about their corner of Liverpool. Away from the division and hatred engulfing the country, a new Liverpool group is doing things very differently"

Ronnie Hughes, in his 'Sense of Place' blog, was equally enthusiastic; and the BBC TV North West Tonight news bulletin on the Sunday evening was dominated by coverage of Liverpool's contribution to World Car Free Day. You can find a video of the NWT news item here

Love Wavertree is now inviting feedback from those who attended the High Street event.
